                             Making Crosses:
              Praying Through Bits of Brokenness

(check back later for new date)

Making Crosses is a unique prayer encounter.  Participants will make a cross with items of no value to the world, honoring God’s creation.  Making a cross in this way allows us to listen for God’s voice while using hands as well as hearts in prayer, being lead by the Holy Sprint.  Just as we were broken when God found us, we will take items that the world sees as disposable and let God create a cross through our hands.  God allows us to see things a new light sometimes . . . could this prayer experience be one of those moments for you?

Participants should bring 5 – 10 of items such as:

old nails, nuts and bolts                                      broken tools
appliance knobs                                                  slats from an old chair
small pipes or pieces of PVC pipe                      seashells, buttons, old keys
computer and electronics parts                           old photo frames
small flowers (fresh or dried)                               unusable dishes
broken jewelry or that one earring                       items from the catch all drawer
almost anything small enough to fit in your hand
especially add items are ones you happen to find in a parking lot, street, or park

Basic supplies provided.  Creativity not required.
